Throughout my life, from age four on, I have been an artist.  My family moved from Mexico to the Texas Gulf Coast before I entered school. I have had many careers and  I have lived many places but have always painted.  My undergraduate degree came from the University of Texas, I went on to study art at the San Carlos Academy in Mexico City.  I was a teacher for many years, at first of art and drama in junior high, then teaching many levels, from kindergarten to a community college in Mendocino.  While living in California for many years,  I received a Masters degree in Psychology from California State University at Long Beach.
My work is mainly from real life, [alla prima], figurative and plein air:  oils and pastels, although for quickies, I whip out my watercolors.
I've exhibited in Santa Fe,  Mendocino, southern France, Canada, Austin, Houston and various other Texas locations, having had many one-woman showings.  In Mexico, I have had many showings in San Miguel de Allende; Ajijic, Jalisco,  and another at La Galleria Manzanilla, on the Pacific coast, in La Manzanilla, Colima.   I have won awards at the Brenham Art Show, including the Best of the Show, and was selected to exhibit in Artspace Gallery in Austin, the Salon Exhibit at Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, and the Jack Meier Gallery in Houston. I now reside in  Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, where I offer space for artists to join others in art sessions, with models, and have an on-going plein air group that go out painting our lovely landscapes.  We also have a second home in The Woodlands, Texas.
