Greg has always said to view the world through the eyes of an artist is to see the world as never seen before. Emotion through color light and the creation of atmosphere can stimulate your deepest feelings bringing you into a world that can only be felt through art.
Greg Butterworth is widely known for his Impressionist style capturing much of the New England coastal areas. Married to Susan Butterworth and father of two. Greg's life as an artist started as early back to the 1970's were he became well established and recognized as one of the most promising artist in the green mountains of Stowe Vermont. Although born in Concord MA his family had ventured to Stowe VT and became the owners of Smugglers Inn where they were surrounded by the beauty of Stowe and its countryside.  For much of his teenage life Greg took part in the artist community and way of life. Summer workshops with the New York Art Students League became the foundation of his first works on canvas. His formal education later took him to New Bedford were he attended the Swain School of Design.
Although there were many different aspects to his professional life his focus became a small business which he established for interior design and decorative finishes. His work as an artist was privately commissioned throughout many homes in Massachusetts for many years. He has since retired from this field of work and s[ends much of his time living in Kennebunk, Maine where he creates much of his finished work today.
Greg Butterworth is known for his landscape and seascape works throughout New England. Many of his original works are noted for his mystical and dramatic sky's.
