Greenstone Artworks opened in 2015 in Westcliffe to promote the arts in the Wet Mountain Valley and serve as a creative site. The gallery is co-owned by Curt Gillespie, a painter, and his wife, Linnea Laurila, a fiber artist. The gallery represents select Southern Colorado artists and houses a studio and a 400 sq. ft. classroom (available for rent).

What is a Greenstone?
Greenstone, chlorastrolite, is the state gemstone of Michigan and is found in the Keweenaw Peninsula and Isle Royale National Park. It is a green colored stone with fine stellate masses that have a "turtleback" pattern. The Greenstone business name was chosen for its connection to Michigan, Linnea's homeland, and the place Curt & Linnea lived for 20 years.
