Greenstone Artworks is a beautiful gallery exhibiting conventional and stylish contemporary artwork by select local and regional artists. It's also the center for weekly drawing sessions, monthly art classes for pre-school, two week-long Summer Art Camps for kids, and Workshops for adults and teens, all in collaboration with Sangres Art Guild and Rebecca’s Fund. We also hold special art shows throughout the year, like the annual Wet Mountain Weavers Fiber Arts Show and Sale over Labor Day weekend, and a special Holiday show in December.
What is a Greenstone?
Greenstone, chlorastrolite, is the state gemstone of Michigan and is found in the Keweenaw Peninsula and Isle Royale National Park. It is a green colored stone with fine stellate masses that have a "turtleback" pattern. The Greenstone business name was chosen for its connection to Michigan, Linnea's homeland, and the place Curt & Linnea lived for 20 years.
