Grace Boothe is a "plein-aire" painter where her love for color manifests itself in nature's`palette. One of the greatest influences in her career has been the experience of living and painting in France.She was born in New York and received her formal education at Stony Brook University. Grace spent five years in France studying at several academies, among which are:Institute for Americans (Marshutz Art Program)in Aix en ProvenceAtelier du Safranier, AntibesUniversity of NiceHer french mentor was Dominique Prevost of the Atelier du Safranier. She is the proud recipient of the Hommage de la Ville Menton Award for her winning painting in the Annual Juried Art Competition in Villefranche.Her career has taken her to Spain where she painted in the footsteps of Joachim Sorolla. Also to Italy to paint the hillsides of Tuscany and Umbria. Not to forget the many workshops attended in America.The award- winning artist resides in San Diego, California, and is affliated with the San Diego Musuem of Art. She is a member of the California Art Club, the Oil Painters of America,American Impressionist Society, American Women Artists, American Society of Marine Artists as well as many regional organizations.Boothe says "Painting is a never-ending learning process.
