Artist Gina Buzby

An example of fine art by Gina Buzby

The seashore has always been a comforting and spiritual place to Gina.  Born and raised in South Carolina, her family vacationed all along the South Carolina coast.  Myrtle Beach, Edisto Island, Beaufort and Hilton Head were favorite coastal retreats.  After an art degree (from Columbia College) and several graphic design careers, Gina found herself in the “upstate” working and studying at Clemson University. She worked in Admissions and Recruiting while getting her Masters in Education.
Her brother introduced her to a Navy friend and then suddenly she was living ON the sea (onboard a boat in Annapolis, Maryland), then moving every 17 months and painting in beautiful coastal places across the US and globe.  As a mobile military spouse she worked in numerous jobs at each new duty station but continued to paint the local scenes and people of her host state or country.  Some of her favorite coastal views were in Italy, Hawaii and Cuba.Settling in the East Beach area of Norfolk, Virginia has meant finding a home in a pristine, cheerful and nurturing Chesapeake Bay neighborhood.  And, being just steps away from the southern bay beaches and only minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean entices her to paint plein air locally.  But, she still takes her paints with her on travels throughout and beyond the states.  You can find her out and about with her easel or in her carriage house studio in East Beach.
Gina teaches private lessons (both children and adults) in watercolors, acrylics and oil painting. Part of her volunteer work includes instruction of mosaics for local military spouse groups.  In addition to perusing this website gallery,  feel free to follow her Facebook page, “Gina Warren Buzby - Fine Art” and Instagram entries.
