Artist George Byron

An example of fine art by George Byron

Photo of George Byron

George Byron strives toward creating a tension between beauty and decay, figurative and abstraction, gracefulness and indulgence.  George challenges the physical properties of the medium used to portray his imagery.  George may initially pull from the figure but then he allows his creative intuitions to evolve the subject to evoke an array of emotional responses.  Emphasis on the organic form from his experiences growing up on a farm in Minnesota, his ranch in Mendocino County and his home here in Palm Springs, California.
George has a reverence for nature, the human form and the love of the outdoors.  His activities including walking his dogs, hiking, jogging, photography, drawing and driving through any country road.
He paints and draws from the figure, intuition and plein air
George was the first winner of the Waseca Arts Council juried show in Waseca, County Minnesota in 1976.  An honorable mentioned in the Mendocino Art Center's juried members show in 2016.  He is a member of the Artist Council of Palm Springs.  His artwork is included in many private collections throughout the U.S.
