Gallery owner for 40 years, Geoffrey's work is featured in the corporate collections for AT&T headquarters in Basking Ridge and John Hancock Company and private collections worldwide. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Cape Cod Arts Foundation. In 1973, Geoff was recipient of the Prix-de-Paris award in New York city where his paintings represented American Art in Paris. In 1979, he received first prize in the National Art Competition. In 1987, he was selected by the New York Racing Association for a showing of horse racing paintings at the Clubhouse Gallery in Saratoga and in 1990, he was chosen to be a featured artist at Belmont Park. In 1991, Geoff was the cover artist for "Pops By The Sea" for the Boston Pops Orchestra and in 1993, he was also the cover artist for the Hyannis Yacht Club's "Figawi Regatta", and was the featured artist in 2018 as well. 
In 1994, Smith's painting of Muhammed Ali was selected by Northeastern University's "Sport and Society" to present to Ali as the first inductee. The next year he was commissioned for the "Head Of The Charles Regatta" cover and in 1999, was commissioned for the cover of the "US Ryder Cup" in Newton, MA. In 2001, his painting of the US Open Golf Championship was chosen for the cover of "Fine Art of America's Fairways". In 2009, Geoff was one of 100 artists selected for a National Art Show in Atlanta, GA and in 2011, had two sold out shows at the Art House Gallery in Saint Ives Cornwall, England.  In 2018, Geoffrey was the Featured Artist at the 32nd Annual Figawi Charity Ball. He is represented in galleries throughout Great Britain and the USA including, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Newburyport, Chatham, and Saint Ives Cornwall, England. His work is in collections worldwide.
