Artist Gayle Isabelle Ford

An example of fine art by Gayle Isabelle Ford

Photo of Gayle Isabelle Ford

Born and raised in New Orleans, Gayle's earliest memories are her love of drawing and animals. Her high school art instructor encouraged her to enter a art competition presented by the Art Association of New Orleans, and the result was a scholarship awarded to Gayle at the McCrady School of Fine and Applied Arts, located in the French Quarter.
During her years of raising a family, Gayle pursued her studies through art classes in the evenings, and, eventually studying illustration, photography and fine art through the local community college in the suburbs of Washington, DC, where she was residing.
After moving to Colorado and working as a staff illustrator for Interweave Press for over nine years, Gayle decided to return to her love of fine art.
Feeling comfortable with oils, watercolor, acrylic and graphite, all are favorite mediums for Gayle. She uses them all to capture aspects of nature and the play of light and shadows that most people may miss in their hurried lives. These are favorite subjects to draw or paint.
