I was born in Massachusettes and my family moved to California when I was 8.  I was passionate about drawing by the age of five. I received my first formal training at age eleven by my talented Aunt Marie Wheeler. I was inspired by the Romantic painters and learned much from reproducing Rembrandt and Reuben's works in Art classes in High School. I enlisted in the Army in 1970, during the Viet Nam War, and was fortunate to be stationed in Germany in 1971. I continued with my art while in Germany and sold many oils in Bavaria. When my enlistment was over I took a "European Out" to marry my German Sweetheart Liesl. We returned to the states in 1974 and have resided in California. We love to travel and have spent time in Canada, Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy where I accumulated enough photos and memories to inspire a lifetime of art. I joined the Manteca Art Guild in 2010 and switched form Oils to Acrylics. We retired January of 2019, sold our house and moved to Germany for 7 months. We returned to the U.S. and set up residency in Nevada and bought an RV to travel the states and catch up with family.  We got as far as Silver City New Mexico before the Covid outbreak made it too difficult to travel.  We returned to Gardnerville Nevada and bought a house.  I Joined the Nevada Artists Association and enjoy hosting a few days a month at the Gallery in the Brewery Arts building in Carson City.
