An example of fine art by Gary Wilson

I was born in Massachusettes and my family moved to California when I was 8.  I was passionate about drawing by the age of five. I received my first formal training at age eleven by my talented Aunt Marie Wheeler. I was inspired by the Romantic painters and learned much from reproducing Rembrandt and Reuben's works in Art classes in High School. I enlisted in the Army in 1970, during the Viet Nam War, and was fortunate to be stationed in Germany in 1971. I continued with my art while in Germany and sold many oils in Bavaria. When my enlistment was over I took a "European Out" to marry my German Sweetheart Liesl. We returned to the states in 1974 and have resided in California ever since. We love to travel and have spent time in Canada, Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy where I accumulated enough photos and memories to inspire a lifetime of art. I joined the Manteca Art Guild in 2010 and switched form Oils to Acrylics. We plan to retire September 30, 2018 and prepare our house for sale. We will return to Germany and travel, then decide to either build on our lot in Bavaria or sell it and return to the States for a long tour of our beautiful country.
Well we decided to return to the U.S. and have settled in Gardnerville Nevada.  Covid stopped our trip across our beautiful country in New Mexico.  There is plenty to paint in this area of the eastern Sierras.
