Biography


 
As a native Californian, Gail grew up with sun and sand.  She is part of the art community and a resident of Laguna Beach.  Her artistic career begin as a child with a paint set given as a gift by her Uncle, a local Seal Beach artist.  The desire to inspire others to see the world with the “eye of an artist”, lead to a career teaching High School art for 27 years.  Post graduate studies include a Master’s Degree in 2005, a certification from the Laguna Beach Design Institute, and years of collaboration with fellow artists.
 
Gail Poltorak is an Artist in residence/Owner of the Quorum Gallery in Laguna Beach, 374 N. Coast Hwy, where her current COASTAL ART paintings are available for purchase.  Her studio is open to the public and is located in Huntington Beach.
The Crystal Cove Gift Shop/Art Gallery  sells her 12 x 12 painting of Cottages priced at $450. and framed 6 x 8 artist enhanced  giclee for $150.  50% of sales are donated to Crystal Cove Conservancy and 100% of the notecards sales. 
 
In addition, her community involvement  include membership in the Huntington Beach Art League, founding member of the Huntington Beach Art Center, and Huntington Harbour Art Association.    Her participation in the Laguna Beach Winter Sawdust Festival, Huntington Central Library, Las Damas Show, SusiQ Gallery Q have been rewarded with a collection of ribbons.   Her work has been entered in the Small Art for City Hall contest, and was nominated for Best of Show; two pieces are currently on permanent display.   The SuziQ Center exhibited works from her "Shell Series," and featured "Ocean Gem" in their local advertisement for the show. 
 
 
When she started painting shells, she discovered that the Nautilus shell has been replicating itself for 500 million years, and carries in it's chambers the memories [...]
