Biography

Ewa G. Banas is of Polish origin. She received her degrees in pharmacy and medical technology from the School of Medicine in Krakow, Poland, and she worked there in the biomedical field. In Krakow, as a student amateur artist, she received awards for her posters about World War II.
Ewa moved to the USA in 1992. She graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1996, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with a biomedical major. Then she pursued a career in biomedical sciences.
She left the biomedical field in the fall of 1999 after finishing a volunteer art project, which later brought her first customers.  In the spring of 2000, after she finished  studying  the book “PASTEL SCHOOL”, Ewa created her first pastel paintings.  The beauty of the landscape surrounding St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, inspired Ewa to paint some of her first pastels.  A few months later,  her landscape and still life paintings were accepted to the Jean Stephen Galleries in Minneapolis.
