Biography

The Essex Water Color Club, or EWCC, is New Jersey's oldest continuously active watercolor organization founded by 27 Essex County artists in 1932 to meet, share ideas, discuss techniques and to exhibit their work

Today, our two-tiered membership of over 175 represents watermedia artists of all abilities from across the entire state of New Jersey. Our goals are:

- To provide a meeting environment which promotes the exchange of ideas.
- To support the development of artistic technique
- And to encourage an interest in watermedia in the community

To this end, we offer our members:

- Six regular meetings a year, each featuring a demonstration by artists specifically selected for their style and technique.
- Two watercolor workshops
- Art excursions
- A free video library of more than 100 watercolor titles
- A monthly newsletter and website featuring member news, demo highlights and art opportunities.
- In addition, our Exhibiting Members may participate in our member shows and exhibit work on our website.

Our dues are $30 for Associate members and $50 for Exhibiting Members. Exhibiting members do not pay any extra fees to exhibit their work in any of our 3 annual exhibits.

Meetings are held from 2-4 PM on the second Sunday of the months September, October, November, December, March and April at the Livingston Senior Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, Livingston, NJ....phone (973) 535-7925. For more information, see the Club Officers and Contacts page.
