An example of fine art by Elsa Johnson

Photo of Elsa Johnson

Elsa Johnson received her degree in art from New College in Sarasota, Florida.
Elsa’s interest in nature began as a child, spending hours outdoors observing and collecting animals and plants, reading about them, and capturing their likeness in drawings. When she began college, her intention was to pursue a degree in horticulture and botanical illustration. After winning several college art competitions, she changed her focus to art. Upon graduation, she continued her education through workshops in both botanical and nature illustration, still lifes, and landscape/plein air painting.
She works in pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oil.
Elsa’s paintings are in private collections across the United States. And, since moving to Pacific Grove, she has enjoyed contributing to both the Monterey Museum of Art’s and the Bach Festival’s Miniatures fundraisers
