Something I need to do that I sense will make a difference in the world somehow. I don't know what that might be, but I've had this feeling my entire life and I think it's time, finally, to figure it out... To find my life's purpose and make it happen. Ready, Set, GO!!!!

Biography

“I hunger to seek and describe the beauty in nature's drama, so akin to my own soulful contradictions...
- Ellen Schauer
Ellen’s favorite part of being an artist is the challenge. She loves the continual process of problem-solving that comes from trying to convey her artistic expression, whether on the easel, or poetic verse. With a strong analytical background, that process comes as naturally to her as the movements of her hand when painting or writing, and keeps her tantalizingly engaged.
While inspired by the swishes and swirls of nature's natural Fibonacci, Ellen finds it especially intriguing when man-made objects unintentionally mimic this elegant flow in light, shadow and reflection... as if trying to achieve balance where the spirit of nature would otherwise be broken.
Although her tiny realistic detail and chiaroscuro contrast are what seem to intrigue most of her collectors, she strives for a looser more impressionistic feel to her art while still trying to achieve the impression of realism. Toward that goal she finds herself still adding detail, yet with more free-spirited mark making.  Each new victory gives her a feeling of serendipity, as if all is right with the world. She is a true left brain/right brain individual... A study perhaps, in contradictions?
“Sometimes subtle details are important in order to touch the viewer as deeply as life’s experiences touch us all!”
