Elizabeth LaPenna is an award winning visual artist whose work is held in both private and corporate collections throughout
the United States. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Elizabeth worked as an artists' agent, gallery assistant, and art teacher.  She was responsible for establishing the art department and teaching at Fairview School in Winter Park, Florida. LaPenna  currently conducts workshops/lectures.

In addition, LaPenna studied with Edith Ferillo of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Sally Miller, Boyce Kendrick and Blaine Hall, all of Charlotte, North Carolina.  She also served on the board of directors and was exhibit chairman of the Charlotte, North Carolina Art League. She has been juried into several international exhibitions, such as Miami Spectrum, 2015, Art Expo, N.Y.C. and Santa Fe, N.M. She has hosted recent solo exhibitions at the Customs House Museum (Women in History Month), University Club, Nashville (Vanderbilt),  the Ethel Smith Gallery, Nashville, and the Gordon Jewish Community Center, Nashville.  Four-person group show,"Cork and Canvas" at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Nashville, 2017. LaPenna was selected, "Tennessee Artist of the Year", 2015-2016, by Twin Cities, "Exploring Tosca", as part of their American Artists Series. She is represented by A.D.C./Blink Art Resource, Cincinnati, Ohio.
As an experimental artist, I am always seeking new avenues of expression.  After years of study and painting in a representational style, I came to realize that, for me, some concepts, such as spirituality and the subconscious, are best expressed abstractly. This led me to change not only my style of working but to switch from oil to acrylics and mixed media. The excitement of using pure color and my love of design aided this decision.
