Elinor Peterson
Fine Artist
Elinor was born and raised in Connecticut close to the shores of Long Island Sound.  Her lifelong delight in flowers, animals and nature is manifested in her artwork. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in business and a teaching certification.  She taught business education and held several business management positions before retiring with her husband to the eastern shore of Maryland.
The natural beauty of the area, prompted  Elinor to pursue her artistic interest in retirement.  She feels extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to study with several gifted local artists including Martha Hudson, Barbara Jablin, Mary Ekroos, Nancy Tankersley, Katie Cassidy and Diane Mullaly. As her skills have grown, she has taken workshops in other areas of the country as well as abroad, with artists such as Richard McKinley, Lorenzo Chavez, Kim Lordier, Sally Strand and others.  In the process, Elinor has learned to embrace plein air painting as well as studio work in sharing with the viewer all wonder of the world around us.
