Biography

ARTIST CV

 Biography
Dorothy Siclare uses her sensitivity and love of beauty to create evocative portraits; and has recently found new expression working in abstraction. Since she was a young girl she always felt great pleasure in the drawing process.  All through the busy years raising her two daughters and partnering in an interior design company, she kept her hand in the artistic process.  When she retired, painting became a fevered ambition. Years of portrait classes and many diverse workshops later, her drawing and painting skills enabled her to take on portrait commissions with confidence.

Statement
"Painting is an expression of my inner spirit as it relates to my passions.  When my muse visits something inside of me stirs and flows into my art.  I hope you are drawn to my work. Accurate drawing and painting techniques learned from constant study are the foundation of  my artwork. The works of Sargent, Cassatt and Zorn have inspired me.  Although truthful depictions are my main goal, it is also important that you sense the soul in my subjects. I have been told by tearful clients that I do just that. I have been blessed with many sales and happy clients and awards that validate all my efforts."

"As an artist, I want to share my love of art and the creative process with those who appreciate beauty, hope and inspiration."
