After a twenty year career in Nursing followed by six years' experience in fundraising and event planning, I was able to pursue the passion for art encouraged by my Mother since childhood.  The Scottsdale Artists' School has given me the opportunity to attend workshops with many of this country's master painters.  I was invited to exhibit in the School's juried "Best and Brightest" show, 2010 and 2012, as well as, the juried "Fresh Paint" sale of student work at the School's major fundraising event.  At the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff 2010, a fair consistently ranked among the best in the country, I was honored to receive the Best in Oils award.
During the past fourteen years, I have experimented to find my own unique relationship with paint and canvas through formal classes at the school, private instruction, as well as, independent study while living in Europe for four years.  I had the good fortune to regularly visit Europe's great museums and to appreciate and hopefully learn the lessons of light, color, composition, value, edges and brushwork in the paintings of the masters.
I work in oils, as to me they are the richest and most elegant of the mediums.  I paint on a variety of surfaces including stretched canvas, canvas on panel, New Traditions, Ampersand and SourceTek panels.  I use Winsor and Newton, as well as, Old Holland pigments and enjoy Rosemary and Co. bristle and mongoose long flat brushes.
