Artist Doris Ingle

An example of fine art by Doris Ingle

Photo of Doris Ingle

Doris found her passion for oil painting after retiring from teaching gifted/talented students for twenty three years. The years of teaching and encouraging students to develop their creativity must have finally manifested in her less stressful time in early retirement. After finding a teacher and spending several years practicing and studying oil painting, she had a studio built to accommodate her growing obsession. This in turn, led to hours each day spent in front of an easel. Creating a landscape or a portrait that makes the viewer "feel" is the goal of Doris. The highest compliment she has received is tears in a parent's or grandparent's eyes when they view a portrait of their child that Doris has created. She loves to paint children at play and her own grandchildren are very much an inspiration.  Doris will accept commissions on portraits or landscapes.  Artists that have helped Doris on this journey: Ann McCutchen Tim Stevenson James Brantley Martha Carpenter Dawn Whitelaw John Pototschnik Kerry Dunn Morgan Samuel Price Roger Dale Brown John Lasater IVJason SaundersMarc HansonStapleton KearnsSusan PattonSeth Haverkamp Doris has memberships with the following: Shoals Art GuildAlabama Plein Air PaintersOil Painters of America ( juried into)Portrait Painters of America
