An example of fine art by Donna Myers

Growing up with four siblings on a rural Texas dairy farm I developed a love of nature, animals, and country landscapes at an early age.  As a child I admired my grandmother's skill at quilting and my mother's beautiful music on the piano in our home.  I raised two wonderful daughters and worked for the City of Richardson, Texas for twenty five years before retiring.  As an avid quilter I learned elements of color, design, and form working with fabrics before pursuing fine art.  For the past 20 plus years I have dedicated much of my time to learning all I could about art, attending numerous workshops and seminars as well as reading many books on all phases of art.  I have also participated in festivals and art shows over the years.  Selling paintings as well as receiving purchase awards in many shows.  Trying to capture a piece of the world around me in art is my passion.  I paint all subject matter in watercolor, pastel, and acrylic.
In the fall of 2017 my business partner Betty Smith, and I opened Friends Fine Art a gallery/studio in Celeste, Texas.  The gallery allows us to showcase our work as well as providing a studio space.  It also allows us to share our art by conducting workshops and classes and offer space for other artists to show their work.  Having the opportunity to share my passion with others is priceless.
Art is a continual learning process that provides joy and challenges every day.
