Biography

My paintings are contemporary expressions of our natural world.
Vibrant, harmonious color, pleasing shapes, and beautiful surface texture are my inspirations as I interpret the landscape in my paintings.  The palette knife is the primary painting tool I have been painting with for over 20 years.  I also use brushes, texturing tools, and whatever else works best to create a variety of surfaces in my oil/cold wax/sand abstracted landscape paintings.
I painted in watercolor for ten years; experimented with acrylic/mixed media; and went on to discover that oil with the palette knife was my "home sweet home".  Several years ago I began adding cold wax medium along with some mixed media to my oils.
My award winning paintings have been featured in over 80 juried exhibitions, books and magazines since 1994. I also teach workshops and privately. All my paintings are signed on the front with a calligraphic signature mark of my initials, with my full signature on the back.
