Diane Cannella St. Germain, LWS
Diane was born in New Orleans, LA and received her B.A. in Elementary Education from St. Mary's Dominican College in NOLA in 1969. A couple months later, she married her high school sweetheart Marty. On August 16, 2019, they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Marty is a retired veterinarian and most days he is found painting alongside of her in their art studio.
In the 1990s, Diane did two years of post graduate studies in art education at UNO and Southern of N.O. And, for over 40 years, she has taken workshops from great master watercolorists. Those who most advanced her art education are Milford Zornes, Mary Whyte, Alvaro Castagnet, John Salminen, Jeanne Dobie, Don Andrews, John Salminen, Sterling Edwards, Eric Wiegardt and Andy Evansen. She also took courses on making monotypes with water-based inks from the master printer Ron Pokrasso from Santa Fe, NM. She loves making monotypes and mixed media paintings, but watercolor remains her favorite medium.
Art, for Diane, is the gift that continues giving joy to her life. She loves teaching art believing that the more you share your love of it, the more you receive!
