Artist Diane Frossard

An example of fine art by Diane Frossard

Photo of Diane Frossard

Native Texan Diane Frossard grew up in Dallas and has always had a passion for art and horses. Her father, an avid horseman, introduced her to horses at an early age and her childhood was spent competing in equestrian events and training horses as well as painting and drawing. She initially worked as a geologist before turning to art full-time. Her art education has been a self-guided study, including workshops with numerous artists including Scott Burdick, Susan Lyon, Daniel Gerhartz, Douglas Fryer, Michael Workman, Carolyn Anderson, Bruce Peil, Joseph Zbukvic and Robert Shufelt. She and her husband currently reside on a ranch in Tyler, Texas with six horses. Her daughters and horses are recurring models for her paintings and many of her plein air landscapes are scenes from the ranch.
Artist Statement
I am more interested in light, shapes, movement and design rather than in any particular subject, striving to capture the poetry of a unique moment in time. Horses have always had a calming effect on me and that feeling is what I try to portray in my equine paintings. In a world that can often be stressful, I hope my paintings evoke a sense of tranquility and beauty.
