The Artist Says:

A few years ago when walking around the city of  Chicago I passed by the Studebaker Fine Arts Building building, above the main doorway was  the following  inscription:  "All passes – Art alone endures.”  This profound --and true-- statement  is what I believe artists
are here for. We are the creators of culture whose work will endure for centuries.

Collectors Say:

Denise Wood's paintings are full of the joy of life. They are exquisitely rendered. Her skill is obvious. However, the technical never over shadows the feeling but only enhances it. - Leslie, Fleming Island, Florida

Other Artists Say:

“Everyone discusses my art and pretends to understand, as if it were necessary to understand, when it is simply necessary to love.” ~ Claude Monet
“Art evokes the mystery without which the world would not exist.” ~ Rene Magritte
“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” ~ Degas

Denise Wood works in oil and acrylics on canvas and artist panels. She lives on Fleming Island in Florida with her husband, Robert and their cat, Buster. She fell in love with painting as a child when she was given a paint-by-number set and she still delights in painting with color.

HISTORY: After winning a college scholarship in high school by helping to illustrate a safety notebook for OSHA, Denise Wood earned her degree with a focus on fashion and graphic design. She has been in many juried exhibitions and you can spy one of her paintings in chef Vivian Howard's test kitchen on PBS's Daytime Emmy award winning television show, "A Chef's Life", Season 3 and 4. Denise is currently serving as President of the Jacksonville Artist Guild in Jacksonville, Florida and working on a collection of Florida inspired paintings.
