An example of fine art by Denise Foster

Every painting has a story - a backstory of inspiration, time, emotion, effort. Sometimes it includes struggle, frustration, doubt, repair, do-overs. A few include joy, freedom, self-realization, expression. That's only the beginning.
The Story continues when the painting finds a home. The conversations it brings, promises of new and renewed friendships,   the feelings it conjures, the memories it might spark, the friendships and family love it may witness - all contribute and add to the Story of the painting.
Here you will find my favorite Stories, inspired by gifts received and given in celebrations of love and seasons, gatherings of friendships and fun, travel to beautiful, timeless lands and times of solitude and learning.

An artist using a palette knife to add texture, interest and abstraction to her paintings, Denise started her journey more than 20 years ago with a desire to learn and experience the wonder of painting.  Since that time, she has attended classes, workshops and seminars in order to build her knowledge and skill base, exploring other mediums and finding a love for oil on canvas.  Extensive research, instruction and travelling the U.S. and France with fellow artists and teachers has enhanced her intuitiveness, creativity and reference material. Her expressive use of thick paints and palette knife give a sense of energy, emotion and body. Her paintings live and continue their stories in homes from Canada to Florida, California to Vermont.
