DEBZWEB  Welcome to my virtual studio. Please feel free to take off your shoes, get comfortable and sloooooow down.
That’s the way it works in my studio at home, anyway. I watch people release the pressures and demands of everyday life and enter a parallel universe of imagination, absorption, and play. They let go, lighten up, mess around, try things, make mistakes, and most of all, have fun.
It’s quiet here, so quiet you can hear yourself think. And safe. There are no expectations, no judgments, no comparisons, and no way to get it wrong.
I see it as a creative playground for grown-ups. And I know it’s magical.

DEB “Late bloomer.” That’s me.
The bad thing about that is that it’s taken me so long to figure out who I am and what I’m doing here. The good thing is that I’ve held on to a piece of Little Debbie which means that, unlike most adults, I am really good at playing.
I’ve been through a lot of incarnations in this lifetime: Jewish American Princess, campus rebel, young bride/young divorcee, feminist professional, body-builder, freelance writer, high paid consultant, angry wife and anxious mother.
A few strands connect all these phases:

Looking inward
Reading, reading, reading
Keeping a journal
Seeking the meaning of life (no joke)

For the last 30 years, I’ve been married to Sam, a Southern Baptist mensch* who keeps me sane.. The two of us somehow managed to raise two really tough kids and keep our marriage alive. (Miracles happen.)
Ben and Samantha have been my greatest teachers, teaching me all I know about humility, compassion, forgiveness, and healing. Thanks, family.
*Mensch is Yiddish for a man you can count on to do the right thing.
