The Artist Says:
You probably walk by hundreds of inspiring and compelling images every day. Those are the images I look for and try to capture through my art and photography. My art on canvas, paper and other media is my impression of a scene or subject; it is not meant to be photo-realistic. My photography captures the unusual and beautiful; the dramatic and compelling.
Biography
Hello! I am a mostly self-taught artist and photographer that started later in life. I am married to the only love of my life and have two wonderful grown Sons and two cats with an attitude. I have been privileged to display in the Yergin Gallery of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and have pieces in private collections.
I follow my heart and mind when creating art. My main genre is abstract and modern and I also design and create original pieces of Judaic art that reflect my faith. I use acrylics, watercolor, pen & ink, art markers and pencil. Although I may have an idea before starting, often a piece starts to form without a pre-conceived notion. I enjoy creating abstract images from scribbles and if you see me in a restaurant I will probably be creating pen and ink trees and landscapes on napkins that I give away for fun.
My philosophy for photography is to capture the beauty in everyday life. When I look for subjects I focus on how the shape, form and color create a lyric or tell a story. I will always try to see what others might overlook and bring out the hidden textures, lines and designs in nature and our man(and woman) made world.
