Dave Paulley; Aviation, Western artist born and raised in Osage, Wyoming, a small community in the foothills of the Black Hills. Attended grade school, high school and the University of Wyoming. Served in the United States Navy with Air Transport Squadron Five (VR-5) during the Korean conflict.
Dave learned to fly when he was 16 years of age. Lived and worked in Cheyenne, Wyoming 1959-1987. Now lives in Osage. Wyoming. Began painting professionally in 1968.
Dave paints aviation, western and combinations of the two genres, also land and seascapes. In the 1980's a large painting project was completed called “Wyoming History in Art”, the thirty six paintings of Wyoming historical events now reside with the Wyoming State Historical Society in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Dave recently illustrated the book “Wings of Paradise” authored by Peter Forman featuring the history of commercial aviation in the state of Hawaii. Dave's paintings hang in several foreign countries and throughout the United States. He has exhibited at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida and has won several awards at the EAA Air Venture competition in Oshkosh Wisconsin.
