DANIEL JIMICK is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (B.S., 1967) and the University of Pittsburgh (M. Ed.,1970). He is also a graduate of Famous Artists Schools, a correspondence course in commercial art founded by Norman Rockwell and other noted illustrators, and Christian Writers Institute. He taught art for thirty years in the Freedom Area school district, Beaver County, PA. He also taught commercial art and “Advanced Painting” classes through the Community College of Beaver County. His work has been exhibited in numerous shows including The Three Rivers Arts Festival, The Butler Institute of American Art and The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts. 
After college Dan began his teaching career while simultaneously pursuing a career in fine arts. During that period he held memberships in several art organizations including the Indiana Art Association, Pittsburgh Print Group, West Hills Art League and The Graphics Society.   His awards during that period include:

In 1974, after a long search, Dan had what he describes as a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. A few years following that experience he gave up his art career to begin serving God in a chalk art ministry. He has performed his chalk art ministry not only in Protestant and Roman Catholic churches but in such diverse venues as an inner-city school, a fire hall, a geriatric center, Pittsburgh’s Light of Life Mission, The Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel and the annual One Voice Music Festival held each Labor Day weekend at the Hookstown, PA fairgrounds.
