Cynthia Eckhardt lives in Arroyo Seco, a small village at the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains in Northern New Mexico.
Primarily self taught, she enjoys painting a variety of landscapes.  Her deep appreciation of the outdoors and her European style of plein aire painting are enhanced by her soft brushwork and love of color.
Cynthia has been juried into several prestigious shows around the United States including the Contemporary Masters International Salon and the national American Impressionist Society.  Additionally, she has shown in the "Taos Invites Taos Invitational" and the Taos Art Museum's "Russian Nights".  She also received the President's Award from the New Mexico Plein Air Painters Association and participated in "Texas and Neighbors" exhibit. Three of her paintings were selected in the Top 100 category by the national "Paint America" competition and included in a traveling exhibition throughout the United States.
In 2013, 2014 and 2015 she was invited to show in the "Collector's Reserve" at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She also received invitations in 2014 and 2015 to participate in "Cowgirl Up!" at the Desert Caballeros Museum in Wickenburg, Arizona.
Memberships include Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society and Plein Air Painters of New Mexico.
