Artist Connie Ehindero

An example of fine art by Connie Ehindero

Photo of Connie Ehindero

Ehindero’s art comes from immersion in the natural world, translating it’s lines and forms, seen and unseen, past and present. The paintings quite often move between dimensional space and the flat surface of abstraction. Layers are revealed using charcoal, acrylics and gel mediums. Her works on the canvas also interplay between the literal landscape and our more primal abstract connection to the natural world.  Most of her body of work has been painted “plein air” around Lake Ontario in New York State and in her studio in Rochester, NY.
She has been painting and exhibiting throughout New York state since 2008, when she returned to painting after a successful career in printing and advertising.  Her works are currently in the collections of the Eastman Saving and Loan corporate headquarter and Strong Hospital in Rochester NY, plus and numerous private collections.
Ehindero says “Since childhood, I have gone to my cottage in the woods on the shores of Lake Ontario. The path to the cottage is a mere quarter mile long, but for me it encompasses all the natural world that I need to understand being home. All that I have painted started from my connections to this place, its barrier dunes, old growth woods and marshes.”
She has recently started exploring the landforms and shorelines of the Finger Lakes., Hudson River valley and the National Seashore on Cape Cod.
