Biography


 
 
Clark Wilcox PAA was born and raised in Billings, Montana and graduated in Architecture from Montana State University where his early paintings were architectural tempera renderings of his own building designs as well as for other architects. 
His interest in oils began in 1981 when he studied under several Billings artists most notably Hall Diteman. Over the course of some 25 years, he has attended workshops from Clyde Aspevig, Jim Wilcox, Tucker Smith, Robert Bateman, Veryl Goodnight,  George Strickland, M.C. Paulson, Denny Neville, Jerry Inman, John Potter and Ralph Oburg just to name a few. 
He has received numerous awards in the Billings and Cody/ Powell area where he now resides and his paintings are in many private collections regionally. His work can now be seen in the Cody Country Art League and the Red Lodge Art Guild and Billings Gallery of Fine Art. 
Clark was been accepted into numerous juried auctions and shows including the C.M. Russell Art Auction in Great Falls, MT,  the Richard Schmidt Fine Art Auction in Loveland, CO, the Yellowstone Art Museum and J.K. Ralston Art Auctions in Billings, MT,  the Rotary Art Fling in Powell and the Rocky Mountain Regional Juried Exhibit.  Thirteen of Clark's Paintings have been accepted into the  Paint the Parks and PaintAmerica contests including seven in the top 100 and two in the top Mini 50. He has attained PaintAmerica Association Signature Society (PAA) status.
