Artist Christina Slayton

An example of fine art by Christina Slayton

Photo of Christina Slayton

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Christina has lived throughout the United States  giving her the opportunity to study with different schools of art.
Although Christina had formal training in drawing and painting, she further refined her skills while attending Columbus College of Art and Design. Additionally, one year with anatomical studies has proven to be an invaluable discipline.
Studying with Richard Halstead, a portrait artist in Chicago, Christina furthered her skills in oil portraiture.
While studying for two years at the Schuler School in Baltimore, Christina learned to paint the classical still life, and continued to work from life with the model.
Currently, Christina is focusing on the sea and landscape genres, giving her the opportunity to paint nature and objects with the same search for their underlying character and authenticity as she did with her portraiture.
