The Artist Says:

I love people, and I love to paint them.  Painting provides the means by which I can capture a person’s essence, as I see it.  The most important thing is that a face or figure has to intrigue me—it has to tell an interesting story or project an emotion that I feel compelled to interpret via colors and brushstrokes.
If my painting speaks to you, would you kindly drop me a note?  I would love to hear from you. Thank you.  My dear kindred spirit.

Passion Rules

Born into a family of artists in Taipei, Christina C. Kuo has always been an artist at heart. Surrounded by her father (a poet) and her grandfather (a renowned Chinese calligraphy scholar) Art was burned into her DNA.
Taught to paint by private tutors, Christina painted voraciously at home until she left for college. Hungry for more artistic inspiration, she moved to New York City and then settled in Los Angeles where she worked full time in the banking industry. But the muse continued to call. The artist in her wouldn’t be silenced. She continued to paint every weekend and furthered her study and mastery of painting technique at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design. In 2012, she decided to focus on painting full time.
Inspired by the works of master painter Jove Wang, she began studying with him. She has continued to study with him both in the United States and abroad creating both her own original works and studying famous painters and their paintings. In doing so, she has studied the many different genres of painting: large-scale works, portraiture, still life, flowers, and Plein-air.
She was especially captivated by the works of Spanish painter Joaquin Sorolla and Russian painter Nicolai Fechin. This international exposure and study period has left her determined to pursue her life-long dream of becoming a professional artist.
Having found her voice, Christina continues to paint in her Pasadena, California studio creating both personal and commissioned work.
