Artist Charlotte Wyatt

An example of fine art by Charlotte Wyatt

Photo of Charlotte Wyatt

I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, going to the beach and loving the big vastness of the skies.  Paper was my main art supply, especially the backs of school papers. I still  use the backs of papers. Today, I paint in watercolors, oils, acrylics and pastels. This will depend on the subject and how I see it painted. Many of my paintings are done on location or from items set up in my studio for still life works. I am particularly interested in light and how it affects colors and shadows. Since I moved to San Antonio,Texas, historic sites as well as the architecture of the area have sparked a new interest.

Cowgirls Series
In addition to my paintings, I have a Cowgirls Series which  are portraits of women that are named alphabetically. Each painting tells a visual story that embodies the strength and personality of life in today’s wild west. They are painted in oil with a flat graphic style.
Live Event Painting and Watercolor Portraits
This is a speciality service where I paint the scene as the event is happening.  The painting is usually includes guests of honor and the venue.  The painting is finished before the event is over and the completed art is ready to take home.
With the watercolor portraits,  I paint a quick portrait of a guest in under 10 minutes. The guest has a fun, original painting to take home.
