An example of fine art by Carolynn Jones

Photo of Carolynn Jones

I have studied art at the University of Alabama, Samford University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and George Peabody College, ultimately receiving a degree in art and art education in 1978. I taught art for several years and later expanded my education to include space for nursing and clinical research careers. In addition to painting, I have served as an art instructor, mentor and arts retreat facilitator in a variety of settings.   As a life-long learner, my art has been highly influenced by other abstract impressionist painters, in the oil painting methods of Sergei Bongart. My paintings reflect my passion for intersecting journeys and energies of nature, people, light, soul and Spirit. Numerous juried exhibitions, private collections and galleries have featured by work.  I am a member of Mountain Brook Art Association. Additionally, I was a proud member of The Village Painters, a historic private studio/salon group of painters in Birmingham, Alabama that is currently on hiatus. I reside in Birmingham Alabama and enjoy time with family, friends and my many distance-based students and colleagues.
Unable to separate myself from healthcare passions, I am also an Associate Professor at The Ohio State University's College of Nursing in the Master's in Applied Clinical and Preclinical Research program among multiple other clinical research and academic and teaching activities.
In pursuit of life's truest meaning - - -  Art is a place to breathe.  Art is where I get to meet YOU!
My aim is to continue to explore ways to merge art with the journey of life and science.
Welcome to my Art Portfolio! I hope these paintings touch mind, body and spirit!
Love and Light! Carolynn
