Biography


      "In her experience as a model in the commercial world of fashion and design she has seen the "beauty" that man is capable of creating. Yet, there seems to be a softness within her that sought the beauty of nature. There is a spiritual calmness that allows her to present her God given gift to the world with her paintings which are truly a reflection of her spirit".   Sieg Aurich
 
Born in a small town in the Midwest, Carolyn's summer days were spent swimming in the Mississippi, running through cornfields and chasing fireflies after dark. It's not surprising that one day she would bloom into an artist with a deep appreciation of color, light, and land.
 
 As a young woman she moved to New York City where she enjoyed a successful modeling career with the Ford and Elite agencies.  Extensive travel through Europe awakened her to the beauty of historic cultures.  After returning to America, she pursued another childhood dream and performed as an actress in many television shows and commercials.  But art was always a yearning.  Mostly self-taught, she studied at Santa Monica College, Pratt Institute, and many targeted workshops.
 
  Carolyn's passion flourished with her time spent on the east end of Long Island, where lush scenery and brilliant light have captivated generations of artists.  She and her former husband opened a picturesque gallery in the charming village of Greenport where she curated shows and displayed her paintings to a dedicated following.  In addition, galleries in East Hampton and Southampton proudly represented her.
 
 Carolyn began a new chapter in her life when she had the opportunity to relocate to the historic city of Charleston, SC with it's mysterious tidal marshes and vibrant art community.  She continued to hone her craft participating in paint-outs, and studying with talented artists of the area. [...]
