Artist Carol Platt

An example of fine art by Carol Platt

Photo of Carol Platt

Born in Savannah Georgia and raised in Orlando, artist Carol Platt began formal art studies at age twelve with Ralph Bagley, founder of the Orlando Institute of Art.  She refined her oil painting skills in the methods of the Old Masters with Tom W. Sadler.  Painting 'en plein air' became a passion in 2008 when Carol was invited to join the Florida Painters Group.  The weekly outdoor painting excursions led her to establish The Mount Dora Plein Air Painters group in 2012.  Her award winning, light filled, thought evoking works can be found in many private collections.  Carol's studio is in the picturesque lakeside city of Mount Dora, Florida, where she paints, teaches and continues to inspire fellow painters.  Other memberships include the Portrait Society of America, Pittsburgh Outdoor Painters and Mount Dora Art League.
