Artist Statement: Carol Bruggman Mitchell
I am drawn to light and shadow in the landscape, and interior spaces such as rooms in my home or still life subjects. Plein air painting has been a great resource in developing my color palette, sense of design and spatial depth in my work. Recently, I have been exploring color vibrancy and increased use of abstraction in my paintings.
