Born and raised in Indiana, I first studied art at the American Academy of Art.  My first job was at an advertising agency creating graphics for recruitment ads in black and white.  I honed my value skills at that job but always longed to paint the vibrant colors in my mind's eye.
I am self- taught in pastels and worked many years alternating between art fairs, galleries and exhibitions. I have participated in the First Lady of Indiana's art exhibition at the Governor's Mansion and painted the late Mayor of Chicago, Honorable Jane Byrne. 
My specialty is light and shadow and painting natural scenes around me. Most recently, as time passes even more quickly each year, I want to portray history, both mine and the area where I live. Recording the changes for posterity.
I accept commissions for that reason also. Let me capture that special moment, place or person in time and preserve it for you!
