An example of fine art by Cara Iacovetta

Thank you very much for visiting my site!    I have loved art since childhood.  At age 12, my teacher called the local city paper to give me recognition for a mosaic class project that she thought was outstanding.  A photo of me holding the art appeared on the front page.  At 15 I placed first in a poster contest and landed in the paper again.  This lead me to a scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design, where I graduated with a Bachelor of  Fine Arts.  Over the years I have taken on graphic design projects, floral design, teaching children and faux finish decorative painting.  I recently fulfilled a lifelong dream and returned to my first love of painting.  I am a full time professional artist.
My work is very eclectic as I explore and experiment with several media, often on the same piece.  I love the challenge of combining elements and making them work together harmoniously.   I am reluctant, at this time, to be locked into a specific media, subject or style.   The one constant in my work is the influence of the natural world, which has never failed to comfort and restore me in difficult times.  It may be the texture of a stone, the color of a nebula,  or the organic pattern of marbled paper.  My love of animals is also evident in  my work.  I have always felt a deep kinship with them and have been active as a shelter volunteer promoting humane treatment.
I create because it is necessary for my well being and personal fulfillment.  Nothing gives me greater joy than when someone else appreciates what I do enough to make it a part of their home or office.
