In the past 30 years, Canal Cheong Jagerroos has lived and worked in numerous countries from Asia to Europe and Africa. Whether consciously or subconsciously, the unique experience of having lived in such culturally diverse places, namely; Hong Kong, Shanghai, France, Switzerland, Italy, Senegal and Finland has influenced her work greatly. Canal Cheong Jagerroos has discovered that walking the line between the east and west, facing different cultures, can be both constructive and destructive, but always inspirational.

Canal Cheong Jagerroos is the Founder of Floating Island Art project and the Co-Founder of the ongoing art project ‘Blue and Red’ which has been showing in numerous museums in China and Finland from 2018 - 2020.

“I work with all perspectives and float with all possibilities along the creativity process. I become part of my artwork, my studio floor becomes a segment battleground, and the world around me becomes an assembling canvas. An action, an incident, a meaningless thought, and a purposeless moment continuously changing and becoming an original image. From analysing this original image to disassembling it; to interpreting it and to reconstructing it  in different ways. In the final analysis, an artwork is a healing process and a subjective expression of the soul. I love this process and I am surprised to perceive the certain vitality that needed to be awakened constantly. In the final analysis, an art shall speak itself without boundary with the realm of material and immaterial.”   --- Canal Cheong Jagerroos
