The best part of my story is all the different media I have dabbled in over my life ... pencil, charcoal, oils & acrylics, mixed media, alcohol ink, clay, any many crafting media including felting, embroidery and quilling. Watercolor was the missing piece and I have found it to be the most rewarding of all. I love the layers, the textures, the different techniques to enhance my pieces. The lights, the darks, how the paints and the layers reflect the light and values of the subject.
When I started my watercolor adventure, I did not expect to be painting botanicals, but here I am. Nature, and flowers in particular, are a never ending source of incredible beauty. Gardening is a passion and several of my subjects can be found in my own yard.
I am very fortunate to live in Manzanita, a small village on the Oregon Coast, with many local talented artists in a variety of mediums, and an active and vibrant arts center and gallery, with many opportunities for learning and workshops.
