"I have always had a love of the outdoor world, from family walks in the woods to field studies in college. I wanted to have nature around me, and being as we lived in the city, our trips to the forest were the only outlet for my love of being outdoors. I combined my love of nature and art in college, where I graduated with a biology degree and a fine arts degree. What to do with such a diverse education? Wildlife art, of course!"Beverly was the chairman of the Southern Wildlife Festival in Decatur, Alabama and  a committee member for over twenty years. She has helped start other shows in the southeast, and was a member of the Wildlife Show Directors Conference. She has received honors and awards and has judged art shows including the Alabama Wildlife Federation Show in 2010 and the Morgan County Fair Art Show.
