An example of fine art by Betty Allen

I find that painting a variety of subjects is inspiring!  Landscapes and still lifes are my primary focus, but I enjoy painting an abstract for the pure freedom that they provide from time to time.  Although I often paint with a brush, my personal favorites are those that I paint with palette knives.  The knife takes me from contemporary realism to a more impressionistic style.  Thus, the energy emerging from my art will vary from piece to piece. Whatever my subject, I try to grab its energy and light and pass it on to the viewer.  My "models", whether it be green pastures and sky or my favorite cup will continue to instill me with knowledge about life and beauty.
