Artist Betsy Tweed

An example of fine art by Betsy Tweed

Photo of Betsy Tweed

I am a representational oil painter and lean toward a classical style. I feel creating art is a sacred privilege and enjoy the process as much as the outcome. Painting brings me closer to all things Divine and all that is beautiful and good in this world.
Although I am a third generation artist, it is only since my retirement that I have found the time to pursue the craft of fine painting.
I am an award winning artist and  have studied with nationally recognized artists Robert Liberace and  Romel dela Torre, and additionally   classical realism at the Southern Atelier with Charles Miano. I have also studied portraiture at  the Ringling College of Art and Design.
My works have been purchased by numerous collectors and exhibited at the Towles Court Art Colony, Longboat Key Art Center, Sarasota Art Center,  Burns Court Cafe Gallery, Manatee Art Center, Art Uptown gallery of Sarasota and the juried national show at the Visual Arts Center, Punta Gorda.
I am a member of the Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America, associate member of Plein Air Florida, Ringling Museum of Art  and many local art organizations.
I welcome serious inquiries regarding portrait commissions in oil or charcoal and specialize in copywork from the Old Masters.
