Biography


 
 ARTIST BIO

 Beth Palser, award winning watercolor artist from Brandywine Valley in Chester County, Pennsylvania is the creator of a unique style of watercolor painting that brings together realism with hard-edged brush strokes called, "Graphic Realism". She has received more than 50 awards for her watercolors, including awards from prestigious national juried competitions such as: The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, The Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors, The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and the Baltimore Watercolor Society.
 
Palser graduated in 1984 from the Art Institute of Philadelphia with a Degree in Advertising and Graphic Design and upon graduation apprenticed several years for a renowned silkscreen printmaker. Fusing this background with painting, Palser developed her new style of watercolors. She often works for weeks on a painting to achieve the quality and detail which has become the signature of her work. Texture, Contrast and Vibrant Color are other elements Palser is known for in her paintings. Her Style is consistent and evident in each piece, but her subject matter varies from the local landscapes of Chester County, to the Urban scenes of Philadelphia or to the many beaches around the US and the Caribbean, where she has vacationed.
 
During her 28 year career as a painter, Palser has exhibited in 10 One-Woman Shows, 10 Two Person Shows, over 100 Group and Invitational Shows and more than 350 local and regional Juried shows throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. Her art is included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad including McGraw Hill Publishing, Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Astra Zeneca, Drexel University and Southco. In addition, Palser has Earned Signature Member status in the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in Manhattan, The Pennsylvania and Baltimore Watercolor Societies, The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman and listed in the Who's Who of American Women.
