The Artist Says:
It is interesting to me how things sometimes develop. I was raised on Sydney Harbor and grew up sailing and swimming and over the years have mostly painted about the sea. I realize that this is more than a passion but a deep connection .
My background in architectural rendering in the Bay Area of San Francisco has given me plenty of experience drawing perspectives and watercolor is a fluid, explosive medium complimenting my drawings.
Each painting I create either in the field or in the studio is an experiment and search to answer a question.
I am an explorer using painting and drawing as my research tools.
I am a day dreamer and observer of life and participating in Plein Air Events in the USA gives me the opportunity to document each unique location.
I am on a journey loaded with a bag full of questions and my paintings are a paper trail of discoveries.
I refer to my paintings as gentle watercolors, some illustrative some emotional and abstract.
