Biography
Babs Fine grew up in the Philadelphia area and studied Art History
at Boston University and the University of Pennsylvania. She attained
her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Philadelphia College of Art.
Her earlier paintings depict city life in Philadelphia, Boston and
New York. Later, with her children as inspiration, she began to
focus exclusively on portraiture.
Babs enjoys the challenge of achieving the likeness of her subject and,
using her impressionistic instinct for color, capturing the essence
of their personality as well. Today her sensitive and vibrant works
can be seen in several area homes, and throughout the United States. More recently she began using her talents to create fun and colorful paintings of her clients' favorite edibles, which have been a treat to do!
She is an active member of the Angeles Crest Art Guild and the
prestigious Portrait Society of America. Babs welcomes
commissions for oil paintings which she creates in her
La Canada studio in Southern California.
