An example of fine art by Annette Goings

Growing up I was always interested in  art, and the aesthetics of beauty in all manner. As a young girl, I would draw the cartoons, comic books and read art books at school. During my early school years, I focused on crafts because these were offered in classes and in after-school projects.  As well,  I've grown up with a deep appreciation for nature. My grandmother would always comment on how I was so at ease in the natural world. I would sit outside for hours, daydreaming and making things.

For nearly ten years, I have lived in beautiful Pawleys Island, S.C.  While I am a native Southerner, I have lived in many places in the United States and Europe. Traveling, meeting new people and seeing new places has had a profound effect on my life and art.

At that time, classes for a more traditional or classical approach to drawing and painting were not offered. However, all education is a good thing and I completed a degree in Political Science. Along the way, I studied architecture and interior design.
Broadly, all my studies and travels have all contributed to my understanding of various aspects of art. Within the past few years, I have studied with  Robert Liberace, Olena Babak, Mark Carder, Chris Saper, Marc Dalessio and Jim Calk.
